Ed Batista shared three important truths in his blog that leaders need to understand about how power impacts communication.
1) Any power we have distorts what others choose to tell us & what we choose to hear.
2) The more power we have relative to someone else, the more distortion in the dialogue.
3) Any unpleasant truths we hear from someone with less power than we
have are gifts, and should be treated accordingly.
